Appetite Events welcomes Crisis as official Charity Partner
Appetite Events first started working with Crisis at Christmas back in 2013 when former Appetite Head Chef Cat Crawford, volunteered and loaned some equipment to help with providing hot meals on Christmas Day. Since then Crisis have really grown this awesome event to span not only Christmas day but right through to New Year. This Year Ewan Mathieson our current Head Chef and our amazing Kitchen team gave up their time over the holiday period with some very hardworking volunteers delivered nearly 2500 hot meals to those in need over the Christmas Period. This would not have been possible without the help of our incredible suppliers who have supported the event every year by giving us free produce. These include Mark Murphy and Partners, Campbells Prime Meat, Vegware and Phantassie Organics as well as a supermarket sweep from Sainsbury's.
“We simply couldn’t run Crisis at Christmas without our army of amazing volunteers. The support we’ve had from Appetite over the years has been tremendous and allowed us to make Christmas special for hundreds of guests and we can’t thank them enough for all that they do.”
It was humbling to work on Christmas Day with so many other volunteers and to meet so many guests. Volunteers also provided 75 Podiatry appointments, 100 haircut and beauty appointments as well as medical advice, warm clothes and many other essential services. This event would not be possible without the generosity of all involved and the hard work that the amazing Crisis Team put in all year round to help the homeless find accommodation, jobs and to help people get back on their feet.
